On Monday, May 5 our club will undertake our major fundraising event of the year when our members will walk the full length of Meath’s Gold Coast!
Starting at our home base of Mornington, we will continue on to the golden beaches of Bettystown and Laytown, crossing the river Nanny and on to the beautiful Mosney and Gormanston strands before finishing at the river Delvin.
As you may be aware we have recently delivered on our promise to provide new playing facilities in East Meath when completing the development of our playing pitch on Tower Road in Mornington - returning Gaelic games here after a break of over 50 years.
As you can see from the photo it is a magnificent amenity and one which we intend to share with our schools and wider community. What's ours is yours.
Though only two years old, our club continues to make great progress. Our Ladies section is thriving, our Men's section is growing all the time and our Little Stars Academy is blossoming with our youngsters getting their first taste of match action through Go Games blitzes.
Our schools coaching is proving very popular and we are expanding our programme all the time. Our ambition is to provide coaching in all of our schools.
Obviously there are lots of challenges as we grow our club here in the community - not least financially. Our annual walk is our biggest fundraiser of the year and the funding raised means that we can realise our ambitions - such as the wonderful Páirc Réalt na Mara - for the benefit of our club and our community.
We would therefore welcome your support with this fundraising venture. The full list of participants can be found on the home page so if you are looking for a family member or friend you will find their gorgeous photo there as well as a link to sponsor their efforts!
If you don’t know anyone in particular you can sponsor the club at the link below or alternatively pick a favourite walker and sponsor them …. we have a mix of all ages, shapes, sizes, and playing and walking ability!
Your support is hugely appreciated
